Although it is only your doctor who can correctly assess the symptoms, your self-diagnosis could first ring the warning bells that a possible rupture has occurred in your ovarian cysts. Being mindful of your condition may prove to be the principal factor in your receiving timely treatment and thus avoiding complications and ultimately ensuring your full recovery.

Symptoms and signs

Women often ignore the first signs of ovarian cysts bursting because the pain and the discomfort that accompanies these ruptures are normally associated by them with menstruation or other related problems. But some specific symptoms do arise which can indicate that your ovarian cysts have ruptured. And anyhow, if you are aware of the fact that you are carrying ovarian cysts, any condition somewhat more extreme than normal should immediately put you on your guard. Close monitoring of the position is the key to discovering the symptoms and linking them to the problem of rupturing. The periods could swing from being very heavy to being extremely light so such a condition, if it occurs, should be investigated immediately. Highly irregular periods often lead to other related problems such as weight gains and acne or mood swings or emotional disturbances and more. So even signs related to the above problems could really be a pointer to a much more serious complication such as ovarian cyst rupture.

hard to say without an ultrasound…could be a cyst
but if you are pregnant, it could be an ectopic pregnancy (which is a surgical emergency)
      how about appendicitis…
      constipation / gas…
      good luck

I had a couple of Ovarian Cysts that resulted in Emergency surgery. I was informed that had the biggest one burst, I would have bled to death. It’s nothing to mess around with. Get in and find out what’s going on for sure, it might save your life.

How to treat ovarian cyst except surgery?
My ovarian cyst is over 5 cm and I am planning to be pregnent. So I do not want to hurt my body I will not choose surgery. Is there any other better treatment or I just let it along no need to treat at all. I heard that ovarian cyst can disappear by itself. Is it true?

How does an ovarian cyst cause infertility?
How exactly does an ovarian cyst cause infertility? From my understanding, someone who has an ovarian cyst cant release an egg during ovulation, which makes it impossible for egg and sperm to meet. But doesnt that also mean if someone has a cyst, they wont get their period bc no ovulation occured? Thanks in Advance.

Because ovarian cysts are commonly found in young women, many infertile women will also be noted to have ovarian cysts . These are often detected on routine ultrasound scans, and cause considerable confusion and anxiety in the minds of patients.
An ovarian cyst is just a fluid-filled sac in the ovary. They can vary in size and contain liquid that is thin and watery, or thicker and paste-like. Cysts are very common in the ovary as a result of the ovulation cycle. Even normally, the follicle ( in which the egg grows) contains fluid. If the follicle doesn’t rupture at the time of ovulation ( when the egg is released) , the follicle gets bigger as it swells with fluid. This follicular cyst is also called a functional cyst, because it is a result of ovarian function. The other type of functional cyst is a corpus luteum cyst which develops when the corpus luteum fills with fluid or blood. When bleeding occurs within a functional cyst, this is called a hemorrhagic cyst.

    Ovarian Cyst?
I have been having lower abdominal pain recently which seems to be coming from my right side. I went to the gyno and she thinks I may have an ovarian cyst. She wants me to come back in a couple of weeks to get an ultra-sound if the pain is still there.

Anyone who has had an ovarian cyst, what were your symptoms? It feels almost like bad period cramps to me.

I had an ovarian cyst a couple years ago and ended up in the emergency room due to the pain. I had pains in the same area you are describing and yes it felt like PMS cramps X 5. I had a lower abdominal Cat Scan performed on me and thats what they determined it was. They go away on their own. It took about a week before I felt no pain. They gave me pain killers to take for the pain until it went away. I would definately get checked out, if it is bad enough it can cause damage if not treated.
